Questions People Actually Ask

If you are stuck in your own head, tired of running the same loops, feeling the gap between where you are and where you want to be, or you just need somebody objective to help you make sense of it all, therapy can help. You do not have to be in crisis to come. If something in you is asking the question, that is usually reason enough.

We work with Black men specifically, but not exclusively. This space was built with us in mind. If you are not a Black man and you think we might be a fit, reach out anyway and we will figure it out together. And if we are not the right space for you, we will help you find someone who is.

Honest, direct, and without judgment. We use an approach informed by cognitive behavioral therapy, a practical way of understanding how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. A lot of the work is unlearning the patterns and old messages that keep costing you. We are not here to fix you or push medication on you. We are here to help you understand yourself and move through life with more clarity.

The first meeting is mostly about getting to know each other. We will ask about your background and what brought you here, and we will start to name what you actually want out of this. No pressure to have it all figured out. That is what the work is for.

We are in-network with Aetna in five places: Texas, Georgia, Mississippi, Delaware, and Washington D.C. We also accept FSA and HSA cards. In every other state, and for any plan besides Aetna, we are private pay, and we can give you a superbill to submit for possible out-of-network reimbursement.

Then we find you someone who is. Fit matters more than almost anything in therapy, and we would rather help you land with the right person than have you sit across from the wrong one. No hard feelings, ever.
Black men deserve freedom.
Whenever you are ready, we are here.
